Consider us charmed.
In a PaperCity exclusive, we announced in June that HART, the Charleston-born personalized jewelry brand, planned to open its first Texas store on Knox Street, the most bussin’ neighborhood development in Dallas that we can’t stop talking about.
On Saturday, HART officially soft-opened its doors in Dallas, and today we’re giving you a first look inside the warm and textured space that feels equal parts Charleston charm and Texas head-turner. Burkle Creative, the Dallas-based powerhouse studio led by design darling Javier Burkle, brought the space to life with their singular warmth and earthy touch.
In our previous Q&A with HART partner and CEO Curry Hagerty, we asked for details about the space itself. Now, in celebration of the opening and our first peek at the striking new boutique, we caught up with Burkle to hear all about the creative process.

Behind the Design
What was the design inspiration for the space?
HART has built a brand around meaningful pieces that tell a story, so we wanted the Dallas store to feel equally personal and full of discovery. We took cues from HART’s Charleston roots and layered them with a distinctly Texas sensibility, creating a space that feels like the home of a well-traveled collector. It’s soulful and a little unexpected, with every detail intended to encourage you to stay awhile.
Was there any design directive that was particularly Texas-inspired? If so, how did that manifest in the completed space?
Absolutely. We wanted the Texas influence to be felt rather than themed. Terracotta, warm woods, layered patterns, and pieces with patina give the store a collected quality that feels very at home in Dallas. There’s a certain ruggedness to those materials, but we balanced them with more refined elements so the finished space still feels distinctly HART, including the charm bars.
What is your favorite design element in the space?
The antique columns! They bring so much character and quietly help define the different areas of the store, from the charm bars to the lounge, without ever creating hard divisions or making the space feel overly structured. You may not even notice them immediately, but they add age and architecture, while helping set the tone for the entire space.
What is the feeling you hope is conveyed when people spend time in the store?
We want people to feel comfortable and curious. HART is about so much more than simply buying jewelry. There’s a personal experience behind choosing your charms and creating something meaningful, so the store needed to encourage that same spirit. It should feel unmistakably HART, with a touch of Texas charm.

At Home in The Big D
I recently designed my own HART necklace, where I selected charms that felt personal to me, from a flying pig to a “Cosmic Cowgirl” charm featuring a flying Pegasus that feels oh-so-Dallas. The snail charm I chose, “a talisman for taking our time,” came accompanied by a little card that reminded me to slow down and move with intention. Charmingly, the HART girlies call her “Go Go,” as in escargot. Très charmante!
The official grand opening celebration for HART is on Saturday, August 29, beginning at 10 am. The first 50 guests will receive a custom HART Dallas tote, bandana, and $50 gift card. In addition, there will be a latte art cart on-site for the event, as well as the promise of additional “surprise and delight moments” throughout the day.
Welcome home, HART. I think y’all are going to be right at home in the Big D.
