Meet Shake Shack’s New Neighbor
A Famed New York Gourmet Grocery Store is Opening in Texas
By Linden Wilson Jobe //
Cheese and charcuterie, fine slabs of filet mignon, gourmet pastas and sauces, and bakery delicacies (chocolate babka, mini tarts, cheesecake, et al.) are on the menu at Dean & DeLuca, the New York-based gourmet market, which will open its first Texas outpost in Plano’s new Legacy West development next spring.
Dean & DeLuca — the luxury food emporium that began business in 1977 with a Soho shop and now boasts dozens of locations across the globe — is slated to make its debut in March 2017, along with all of Legacy West, a $3.2 billion dollar, 255-acre mixed-use project that also will also house Toulouse Café and Bar, Taverna, True Food Kitchen, Mesero, and Shake Shack, among others.
We had a hunch Dean & DeLuca might make its way to our great state when this year’s Colonial golf tournament was officially renamed the Dean & DeLuca invitational, with the grocer even hosting a pop-up during the PGA festivities. Get ready for some more great food.
