This Dallas Fashion Show and Luncheon is All About Giving With Style
By Caroline Hogan //
Benefiting the Salvation Army and 70 other vital services available around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the annual Women’s Auxiliary fashion show and luncheon is an opportunity for women to support a charity that provides safe havens for victims of domestic violence, shelters for the homeless and drug rehabilitation clinics. With $9 million raised solely through this event, the stakes are high.
The event began pre-spring with a kickoff cocktail at Eiseman Jewels boutique in NorthPark Center where a handful of longtime supporters, along with this years event chair, Lisa Singleton, fluttered about, invigorated by this year’s fashion show and luncheon. It was revealed there that the 2018 Margot Perot Service Award will go to Jan Pickens. A tremendous honor, the name is awarded every year to a dedicated, extraordinary member of the Women’s Auxiliary Board.
The day itself is packed with an agenda fit for the most zealous charity women. Doors open promptly at 10 a.m. followed by the fashion show an hour later — all thanks to donated, gently-worn designer clothing and baubles — then it’s on to the lunch around noon. A silent auction and the bidding and purchasing of the must-have pieces shown on the runway will go on throughout the event until 2:30.
