Houston Symphony Ball
*“Hip to Be Square”
By Sharon L. Taylor //
Talk about some kind of wonderful: Huey Lewis and the News will headline this year’s Houston Symphony Ball, alongside pianist and singer Michael Cavanaugh (who brilliantly channeled Billy Joel for three years in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out — a virtual marathon of nonstop singing and playing that earned him both Tony and Grammy nominations). This year’s ball, chaired by Lisa and Jerry Simon and Sherry and Jim Smith, also includes a silent auction and seated dinner, all to benefit the Symphony’s education and community programming. PaperCity serves as media sponsor.
