2017 Houston PaperCity Design Awards: And the Winners Are…
BY Anne Lee Phillips // 05.15.17The annual Houston PaperCity Design Awards elicited 291 outstanding entries in 18 categories, with more than 2,000 project images downloaded into digital libraries for our judges — designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard from Los Angeles, architect Peter Pennoyer from New York, designer Katie Ridder from New York, and designer Mark D. Sikes from Los Angeles. We present the winning projects here, and in the October 2017 issue of PaperCity magazine.
The awards celebration kicked off the inaugural Texas Design Week Houston on Monday night. The evening began with cocktails and small bites from Canopy in the beautiful West Avenue Texas Design Week Event Venue, designed by Richard Flowers of The Events Company. The awards presentation followed, with awards presented by judges Martyn Lawrence Bullard and Mark D. Sikes. Christofle’s Houston general manager Fausto Villeda presented the winners with stunning Andrée Putman-designed engraved silver trays. The celebration continued at the after-party, with Bullard and Sikes signing their latest books.
Watch for the October 2017 issue of PaperCity magazine for more on the winning projects. To purchase tickets for Texas Design Week, which runs through Friday, May 19, go to texasdesignweek.com.
