Arnold Schwarzenegger Chows Down With George H.W. Bush in Houston, Proves Catch Phrases Never Die
Barbara Bush Joins in the Sweet Power Lunch

After congratulating University of Houston graduates at his commencement speech and promising “I’ll be back,” Arnold Schwarzenegger headed from the Cougar campus to the Galleria area to join Barbara and George Bush at one of the Bushes’ favorite Italian restaurants Arcodoro.
Taking selfies with the waiters and posting his photo with the Bushes on Twitter and Instagram, the Terminator turned Governator joined the first family by ordering the former president’s favorite and namesake dish — #41 Ravioli. That would be ravioli filled with handmade burrata served with a veal and medley of mushroom ragu.
“I was so lucky afterward to have lunch with two of my greatest inspirations,” Schwarzenegger wrote on Instagram. “President Bush and Barbara have always put this country first and it will always be my great honor to call them friends and mentors. They inspired me to enter public service.”
As he departed the popular restaurant, Schwarzenegger rewarded owner Efisio Farris with his tag line, “I’ll be back.”
The Bushes and Schwarzenegger have a long relationship with George H.W. Bush appointing the former body builder the chairman of The Council on Physical Fitness and Sports in 1990 when he was president, in many ways starting Schwarzenegger’s foray into political public service. Schwarzenegger’s most recent political encounters have been limited to back and forth barbs between him and President Donald Trump.
In February, Schwarzenegger proposed to Trump, “You take over TV because you’re such an expert on ratings and I take over your job and then people can finally sleep comfortably again” in a video message. When The Terminator is with the Bushes, the conversation (and setting) is much more sweet.
