BY // 12.31.18

Seasoned travelers who have rested their heads on the downy pillows of the Ritz in Paris, Hotel Sacher in Vienna or the Plaza Athénée in New York are accustomed to a certain level of luxury and service, pampering at its most divine. Each of those hotels and 400 other independent, luxury hotels across the globe are members of the curated Leading Hotels of the World collection.

As we head into the new year, Leading Hotels revealed the addition of 11 intriguing properties as far flung as Kuala Lumpur and as familiar as Capri and Grenada. Most of them opened as recently as November and December and one in Madrid opens in January.

(Texas boasts two hotels with Leading Hotels of the World accreditation — Hotel Granduca Houston and Hotel Granduca Austin.)

Herewith, a thumbnail sketch of each of the new properties.

Silversands Grenada in St. Georges, Grenada — The intimate property with 700 feet of beachfront is comprised of 52 guest rooms, suites and villas. The latter include four-bedroom beachfront dwellings and three-bedroom villas on the hillside, each with private pool.

This sleek, contemporary hostelry, which opened in December, is a first for the island that is best known for its chocolate factories, spice fields and crystal clear waters. The property boasts a state-of-the-art spa and fine dining.
