Dallas Emerges as the Surprise Earth Day Center of the Universe: All the Green Events You Need to Know

Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22, and, surprisingly, Dallas is one of the best places on the planet to celebrate. Not only does DFW host the world’s largest environmentally-focused forum, EarthX, but it also offers a range of other fun activities throughout the weekend.

From down-and-dirty gardening classes to luxe spa days, here are four Earth Day events that will make your weekend gorgeously green. 

Gardenuity x Outdoor Voices

Join Dallas-based start-up Gardenuity and chic activewear brand Outdoor Voices for an illuminating and fun Earth Day event on Sunday at the Outdoor Voices retail location. Looking for your green thumb? A gardening demonstration by Gardenuity will show just how easy growing veggies can be. Meanwhile, guests can enjoy fresh herb-infused cocktails from Bar & Garden, and healthy snacks from Gather Kitchen.

Plus, all Outdoor Voices purchases made between 11 to 2 pm will be 15 percent off. Time to get your hands dirty and start #doingthings for the planet!

Did you know that the world’s largest forum on environmental education and awareness takes place in Dallas? This weekend, EarthX 2018 will bring hundreds of exhibitors and more than a 100,000 visitors to Fair Park to celebrate progress, hope and innovation. The three-day event includes environmental film screenings, more than 250 featured speakers, yoga, virtual reality experiences, an environmental art installation, and outdoor activities (complete with a scuba dive pool).

Earth Day Soirée at Vivian’s Spa

The Arrangement Project and Vivian’s Spa Boutique are teaming up for a fun afternoon of pampering and projects this Sunday, April 22. The event will begin with a floral workshop with The Arrangement Project, a group which helps provide underserved women with floral resources as a way to foster confidence and community.

Earth Day Celebration at Whiskey Cake

Brunching goes green this weekend at Plano hotspot Whiskey Cake. The restaurant is hosting an Earth Day celebration complete with a DJ, mimosas, and eco-friendly vendors. Operation Kindness will also be on-site with adoptable puppies, and the Last Straw Movement will be educating guests about plastic straw pollution prevention.
