Dallas’ New Virgin Hotel Creates Quite the Spectacle
Billionaire and Beauty Queen Ride into Town on a White Horse
By Linden Wilson Jobe //
It was a fête fit for a king. Virgin Group founder Richard Branson recently jetted to Dallas for the groundbreaking of the Virgin Hotel in the Dallas Design District, making his entrance on a white stallion guided by Miss Texas, Caroline Carothers.
After digging his shovel into the ground alongside Dunhill Partners and Dallas Design District power players (i.e. Dunhill Partners founder and president Bill Hutchinson, and Dallas-based developer Gatehouse Capital CEO Marty Collins), Branson made a quick stop at Design District hot spot Quill. The cocktail lounge played host to a party thrown by Surface magazine, which featured Branson on the cover of its October issue.
The house was packed with the likes of Capera Ryan, Krystal Schlegel and Luke Davis, Diamond Mahone, Charles Smith II, and a swell of well-dressed socials.
We hear Branson’s next Dallas entrée will come when the hotel opens its doors in 2018.
