Sunday night brought the E! People’s Choice Awards. You know what that means?! I was parked on my couch for hours, sending all my thoughts out to the social media universe the minute the red carpet got started.
But first, a pause for Southern California as the state battles a devastating mess of wildfires. Let’s call the red carpet and awards show a happy moment to lift us from the actual news.
But back to regular programming. Here, 10 soundbites from awards show evening …
1. Of course, I am rocking my Jonathan Van Ness merch tonight in Queer Eye support — good luck tonight, gents!
2. I’m still gobsmacked by Giuliana Rancic’s legs. You betta work them GAMS, G! I mean, this program has more legs than a bucket of chicken — and I couldn’t be happier!

3. But, also, YAAS SUSAN! Susan Kelechi Watson: It is harmful that you are this GORGEOUS. Like, it’s cruel that she is that drop-dead GORGE and she’s charming as hell. Some people just get it all.

4. Who is excited to see the Queen Victoria Beckham tonight? She is receiving the fashion icon award. Can’t wait to see her LEWK. This will quickly be turning into the Reed Loves Posh Spice Show. The whole Spice Girl reunion has me reverted back to my 12-year-old self and I AM LIVING. “Viva Forever” still makes me shed a tear.
5. Sweet Sandy Duncan. I just love Busy Philipps. She’s like my low-key-cool barometer. If she likes it, I’ll find my way to the same mindset. And she’s wearing Christian Siriano with DOC MARTENS.
6. We’re being blessed by an icon — Amber Valletta. (Puts down the cheese tater tots… resumes eating his feelings.)
7. Rita Ora is a perfect 10 in a major Versace moment. Y’all I have a huge crush on Rita Ora’s hair. Her hair is lyfe.
8. Silence! Victoria has arrived! In a ponytail! I have fainted. It’s my spirit that is typing this.
Classic, confident, and worthy of an icon: Victoria Beckham in her own design. (“Oh, it’s just a custom suit I made for myself… I’ll put it in my next collection.” I said the same thing to the sandwich artist at Subway today.)
It makes no mathematical sense, but I literally base all of my posing on the way VB poses. She’s three feet tall and 14 pounds soaking wet. I, on the other hand, am not.
“Actually, I’m going to meet up with Eva Longoria and we’re going to go to dinner just the two of us,” says VB about her post award-show plans. So funny, this is exactly what I do after awards shows. We’re so in sync, Victoria.
