The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum is marking its 25th anniversary with A Soldier’s Soirée: Honor in Color, an immersive evening celebrating a quarter century of preserving Black military history. Instead of a traditional banquet, the night is built around an experience, with decor, cocktails and spirits inspired by military favorites and desserts made to match. Supporters, community leaders, veterans and friends of the museum will gather to honor its legacy, which began with founder Captain Paul J. Matthews’ personal collection in 2001. The Soirée also starts the countdown to the museum’s grand reopening in spring 2027, after the renovation of its historic 1925 Houston Light Guard Armory home. Proceeds support the museum’s mission and its return to full public access.
