Archway Gallery presents Act Two, featuring prints and tapestries by gallery artist Blaine Davis and monoprints by guest artist Charles Tanner, on view November 7–December 3, 2026. The opening reception is Saturday, November 7, 5–8 p.m., with an artist talk at 6:30 p.m.
The exhibition marks the second time Davis and Tanner have shown together, following a 2021 exhibition at Nos Caves Vin. Both artists have printed in the same studios for nearly 30 years, first at The Glassell School of Art, where they studied with Suzanne Manns and master printer Patrick Masterson, and later at Burning Bones Press.
Though they have never collaborated, their creative processes share an intuitive beginning and an emphasis on evolving imagery. Davis develops etchings through multiple states, while Tanner builds monochromatic monoprints with layers of transparent colored inks.
Davis, who has woven for more than 40 years, considers himself a printmaker who also makes tapestries.
