What
Join Educational First Steps and hosts Bill Mattes and Megan McManemin as they welcome New York Times bestselling author Tara Westover to the annual event, One Childhood One Chance. Hear first-hand the story that inspired Westover’s book, Educated: A Memoir (2018), in a discussion led by moderator Krys Boyd, radio host of award-winning show THINK on KERA.
Westover’s memoir tells of her harrowing journey from a survivalist upbringing to a fellowship at Harvard University. It debuted as number one on the New York Times best-seller list, and has since been translated into 40 languages.
The special event will benefit Educational First Steps, the premiere collaborator that works to advance early childhood education to provide a strong start for children in underserved communities across North Texas.
