What
Archway Gallery presents Clay Stories, a solo exhibition of whimsical ceramic sculptures and tile works by artist Gözde Kaya, on view December 5–31, 2026. The opening reception takes place Saturday, December 5, from 5–8 p.m., with an artist’s talk at 6:30 p.m.
Blending vibrant colors, expressive forms, and playful humor, Kaya’s hand-built ceramics transform everyday observations and fleeting moments into imaginative characters and stories. Each piece begins as a sketch and evolves into a unique work that invites viewers to pause, explore, and interpret its narrative through their own imagination.
Celebrating curiosity, creativity, and the wonder of everyday life, Clay Stories encourages audiences to reconnect with their sense of play and discover the unexpected stories hidden within the ordinary.
Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Kaya brings a background in interior architecture to her ceramic practice. After discovering ceramics in 2018, she continued her studies at the Glassell School of Art following her move to Houston. Her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Houston since 2023.
