Dallas CASA will honor Larry Dolan, its longest-serving volunteer advocate, with the Jan and Judge Barefoot Sanders Champion of Children Award on Thursday, October 15 at the Fairmont Dallas. Since 1997, Larry has advocated for 169 children from 62 families, providing a steadfast voice for children in foster care and helping ensure their best interests are heard in court and beyond.
The evening will feature keynote speaker Jelani Freeman, former foster youth and nationally recognized child welfare advocate.
The Champion of Children Award, named for Judge Harold Barefoot Sanders and his wife Jan, recognizes community leaders who significantly improve the lives of children.
The evening is co-chaired by Lael and Peter Brodsky and Cynt and Kenneth Marshall. Proceeds support Dallas CASA’s mission of recruiting, training and supporting volunteer advocates for children in protective care.
