Houston, TX — Laura Rathe Fine Art (LRFA) brings together three artists–Michael Schultheis, Anna Kruhelska, and Rodrigo Franzão–to present Fragments of Time, a group exhibition that reflects on how we mark, hold, and experience passing moments. The opening reception will be held Thursday, May 22nd from 6-9pm at our River Oaks District gallery (4444 Westheimer Rd). The artists will be in attendance.
This exhibition reflects on how life is encountered in individual moments that are both fleeting and formative. Through their work, Schultheis, Kruhelska, and Franzão reveal how we experience time not just as something that moves forward, but as something that, through small, often unnoticed fragments, creates a visual artifact we can stand before and reflect on. Viewers are invited to witness how the artists’ material processes mirror the rhythms of life–whether through the subtle shifts of light on layered surfaces or the tactile presence of shapes that seem to shift as we move around them. This reinforces the idea that time is not fixed, but constantly refracted through experience, light, and memory. These dynamic interactions encourage a deeper connection to the passage of time and the moments that shape the cadence of our own lives.
