What
Join Houston Parks Board on a tented Avenida de las Americas Plaza for the 2025 Annual Luncheon: Pathways to Progress. Chaired by Ann Lents & David Heaney, Brittany & Ryan Jewett, and Dwan & Anthony Thomas, the event will raise funds to support Houston Parks Board’s mission to expand, improve, and protect parks and greenspaces throughout the Houston region.
Catherine Nagel, executive director of City Parks Alliance and special guest speaker, will join Beth White, president and chief executive officer of Houston Parks Board, for a parkside chat. Catherine Nagel has spent the last 18 years leading the only independent, nationwide membership organization dedicated to urban parks, spurring research and legislation, and leveraging more than $400 million to build urban parks.
Pathways to Progress honors Beth White, who will retire at the end of 2025 after nearly a decade of exceptional leadership. Her tenure has been transformative for Houston’s parks and greenspaces, most notably through the Bayou Greenways initiative — Houston’s interconnected trail and park system. Houston Parks Board remains deeply grateful for her contributions and is committed to advancing her impactful work.
