Join the Rice Design Alliance and Chairs Joyce Lander, Larry Lander, Marybeth Flaherty, and Tom Flaherty for the 2019 Architecture Tour: ADAPT on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 from 1:00pm – 6:00pm. The weekend of architecture and design will highlight the different ways in which architects and owners of Houston homes have modified their living spaces to “ADAPT” to changing conditions. The six Houston houses featured on the tour have adapted to generational succession, family change, climate crisis, neighborhood expectations, and rising waters. Each home has responded to an intent to reuse existing spaces through adaptation in order to preserve the neighborhood fabric and avoid obsolescence in a constantly evolving suburban landscape.
