Join ROCO as the Connections Series continues on Saturday, February 4th, with a modern twist on a Schubertiade salon concert in the glorious ballroom of Rienzi!
The evening will feature the world premiere of two new songs by composer Derek Bermel and author Sandra Cisneros, as well as the song “A House of My Own”, all from the opera THE HOUSE ON MANGO STREET. Featured artists are Cecilia Duarte, mezzo-soprano, with Ana María Otamendi, pianist, and Jesús Pacheco Mánuel, percussion, in these works and additional chamber pieces by Schubert, de Falla, Debussy, and others, plus the world premiere of a new work by Derek Bermel for solo percussion.
Prior to the concert, enjoy a reception of light bites and refreshments, including an opportunity to experience a docent-led tour of Rienzi.
