Clint Smith is returning to Houston to discuss his bestselling book, How the Word is Passed, which was hailed by The New York Times as “an extraordinary contribution to the way we understand ourselves.” Come and enjoy a conversation with the acclaimed writer, poet, and scholar. Additionally, we will be commemorating the 50th anniversary of The Jung Center’s art gallery, and presenting Mathieu Jn Baptiste with the Carolyn Grant Fay Humanitarian Award. A Haitian-born, Houston-based artist, Mathieu seeks to unite the world around him through his unique perspective, using paint and metal as his tools. A multi-course dinner will be provided to all in-person attendees.
