Discovery Green invites you to attend the Xfinity Día de los Muertos Celebration. The special Mexican holiday, which remembers and honors those who are no longer living, will be celebrated with hands-on activities, art cars, and cultural performances, plus a procession to the festival’s centerpiece: a custom, three-tiered altar designed by Houston street artist and muralist Angel Quesada. Visitors may place items associated with departed loved ones at the altar, just as done in Mexico.
The festival will also include music from DJ Gracie Chavez and La Comadre Mel from BOMBON, performances by Danzas Folkloricas de Solei and Nueva Luna Ballet Folklorico, a large calavera created by Gonzo247, and mojigangas, courtesy of Thomas Pascal Will Robinson.
