A Celebrity-Loved Exercise Phenomenon Doubles Up in Houston

Texas domination is in the works for hallowed cycling studio SoulCycle. The fitness phenomenon — which rose to fame with endorsements from Michelle Obama, Chelsea Clinton, Lady Gaga and more — opened its first location in Texas (in Houston) last month, at 2549 Kirby Drive, neighboring gourmet eatery Local Foods and Austin-based women’s boutique Kick Pleat.

Though the Houston studio debuted less than a month ago, SoulCycle is already on to the next Houston endeavor, and plans to open a second location in Houston, this one at 1407 South Voss Road in the Woodway Collection shopping center, in September.

While specific details have yet to be released, it’s safe to say the future cycling venue will possess similar specs to its Kirby Drive sister, which is equipped with a state-of-the-art 56-bike studio, full men’s and women’s locker rooms (showers included) and a lifestyle boutique that offers the brand’s original performance and athleisure clothing collections.

But statewide domination doesn’t end with Houston. SoulCycle unveils its first Dallas location — a 60-bike studio complete with locker rooms and a shopping boutique — on Monday, May 23, at 5944 West Northwest Highway in Dallas’ Preston Hollow. The brand is also prepping for its first Austin location, slated to open this September at The Domain, 11800 Domain Boulevard.

SoulCycle was founded in 2006 by Elizabeth Cutler and Julie Rice. The chain boasts 56 locations nationwide.
