London’s Celebrity Hat Designer Roars into Houston: A Shopping Day at a Memorial Mansion Awaits
By Shelby Hodge //
Any fashionista worth her fascinators is familiar with London-based hat designer Laura Aspit Livens, milliner of bespoke chapeaus to the stars. The woman who has created couture headwear for the likes of Princess Beatrice of York and Britain’s retro soul diva Paloma Faith pops into town this week with a selection of her hats.
Natasha Parvizian and Alexandra Bruskoff, founders of InTwo Shop (the curated pop-up shop experience), are inviting guests to Parvizian’s Memorial area swankienda on Thursday for a shopping day with Livens and with Marci Rosenberg‘s Mrs. Couture and her designer vintage dresses.
Livens’ pieces have been featured in Italian Vogue, WWD, InStyle, and Tatler. Her couture work, as her website explains, is most noted for its old world technique of hand blocking and individually hand stitching without the use of any machinery, thus resulting in the highest quality finish.
The timing couldn’t be better with the River Oaks Clay Court Championship tennis matches next week and the Kentucky Derby next month and surrounding parties packing the May calendar. And there is always next year’s Hats in the Park luncheon for which it’s never too early to plan!
