What: Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital “Meet Us in the Gardens Party”
Where: Hermann Park’s McGovern Centennial Gardens
PC Moment: Focus of the al fresco evening was the children’s hospital’s Neuroscience Center, detailed in discussions on the team’s advanced research, key services and patient stories. The 140 guests had the opportunity to mingle over cocktails and during the seated dinner with pediatric subspecialty physicians affiliated with Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Three muskateers for CMHH — Christine Falgout, Melissa Juneau and Rachel Regan — chaired the evening making this the third event the trio of influential moms has helmed for CMHH in seven months.
Swift + Company set the flower-decked stage for the event and provided the catering, which during cocktails included traveling oyster shuckers. The party played out beneath a clear tent strung with Tivoli lights and around a country French decor. Diversions included a champagne wall and rosé cart, a photo-op boxwood wall with the Children’s Memorial Herman Hospital logo spelled out in flowers.
The program included words from hospital CEO Susie Distefano; a video about a pediatric neurotrauma patient, Garrett; and an explanation of the health crisis from his life-saving surgeon Dr. David Sandberg, director of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and Mischer Neuroscience Institute, professor and director, Pediatric Neurosurgery, McGovern Medical School at UTHealth.
The evening concluded with dancing to the sounds of David Caceres.
