Preferential Treatment — This Fashion Designer Brings Miami Heat and Latin Flair

With that in mind, we decided to create our master list of queries to pose to those we desire to know better. It is aptly dubbed “Preferential Treatment.”

First off is the darling designer Esteban Cortazar who was in town recently for a fashion show and luncheon hosted by his dear friend Nancy Rogers.

I actually hit it off with Esteban immediately since I recall living in Miami in the early 2000s and reading about this design protege who was still a student at DASH, the Design and Architecture Senior High School.

He was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but his family moved to Florida when he was still a young child.

Miami’s heat with its Latin culture and flamboyant trans-culture that was in full bloom on South Beach were early influences on his work.

We are sure you will be dying to see some of his creations — if you haven’t already been a fan — after reading his witty responses. So make your way to Forty Five Ten.
