A Jetsetter’s Delight
One of the World’s Most Stylish Luggage Brands Rolls Out a New Texas Store
By Linden Wilson Jobe //
Luxury German luggage label Rimowa’s aluminum and lightweight polycarbonate cases with grooved shells were designed in 1950 and have been a symbol of jetset travel ever since. The brand is all in the family — Paul Morszeck founded Rimowa in 1898 and passed the torch to son Richard, and now grandson Dieter. (Breaking news revealed today: French luxury goods firm LVMH has bought a controlling stake in Rimowa for $716 million.)
In time for holiday travel, Rimowa opens its first Texas boutique in NorthPark Center later this month, where we will covet the striking luggage in green with leather-covered corners, contrasting decorative stitching, and padded lining (from $695).
