We love any excuse to write a card for a loved one: holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, appreciation, or just because. The Bachelor alum Catherine Lowe‘s Dallas-based luxury paper goods company, LoweCo., recently held a calligraphy workshop at Gro Designs to show just how to express your gratitude on paper.
Taught by Dionne Christiansen of Nib and Pixel, the class practiced calligraphy while sipping on mimosas and enjoying tasty treats from Layered Bake Shop.
They learned techniques for different strokes plus the best practices for addressing different types of invitations, announcements, and cards. Lowe also explained what inspired her to create her business, and gave the class her insight on proper thank you note etiquette.
Each place setting was fully equipped with a take-home calligraphy kit including nibs, pixels, letters to trace, a notepad, and two kinds of ink. They also received two packs of LoweCo.’s signature cards — white, blind embossed on thick card stock with foil detailing.
