Red Sole Invasion
* Christian Louboutin to Open at the Galleria
By Francine Ballard //
French footwear designer Christian Louboutin is coming — and bringing his infamous red-soled sandals with him. Word has it the Galleria will be home to another of the most coveted brands in the world. Come Fall 2016, the soles that some women would sell their souls for will be available at Louboutin’s 19th U.S. retail location. His shoes are already a favorite with the ladies-who-lunch crowd at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, but the boutique will also carry handbags and small leather goods in addition to an expanded collection of footwear and the men’s line.
Louboutin joins the burgeoning list of luxury players coming to the fourth largest shopping venue in the country. For devoted followers of fashion looking for a quicker fix, the Galleria ushers in Italian lingerie atelier La Perla and international badge brand Tod’s this month (June). Look for Miami juggernaut The Webster this fall and Céline in 2016 — all of them, first-ever Houston locations.
