If you missed the opportunity to grab a pair of Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP shoes back in April, you have one last chance for the greatest bargains ever on designer footwear, Carrie Bradshaw-style stilettos included. Catholic Charities has been named as Parker’s second Houston beneficiary and that nonprofit puts the footwear on the sale table in late July.
When Parker says her shoes are priced “ridiculously low,” as she told PaperCity before the original sale, she means it. Shoes, handcrafted in Italy, typically tagged from $350 to $550 will be offered at — shut up! —$50 a pair. And it’s not just shoes. SJP handbags will be priced at a mere $25. The items come directly from showrooms or warehouses and are spanking new.
The one-time sale is set for Thursday, July 25, 6 to 8 p.m. at the main office of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
In mid-April M.D. Anderson was beneficiary of the giant shoe sale with thousands of pairs on the sales tables and with the Sex in the City fancy footwear queen in the house to assist ladies with their shopping. While Parker won’t be in town for this second sale, her philanthropic intent will loom large.
Proceeds from the sale of the shoes are earmarked for Catholic Charities’ five food pantries in Harris, Fort Bend and Galveston counties.
Parker just announced another charitable act, partnering with online fundraising platform Omaze in a national contest in which the winner and a pal get a shopping spree with Parker at her SJP shoe boutique in Manhattan. Proceeds will go to non-profit Opening Act which provides free theater programs for underserved students in New York’s public schools.
And, one never to sit still, Parker launched her online shopping website on Monday, though the site at the time of this writing was merely an unadorned home page. Stay tuned.
