From Gilded Furnishings to Rustic Italian Villas — This Dallas Interior Designer’s Done It All
Now, Betty Lou Phillips is French Refreshed
By Rebecca Sherman //
Dallas interior designer Betty Lou Phillips has documented French and Italian-inspired interiors in more than a dozen books. She’s covered the gamut, from houses filled with lavishly gilded furnishings and crystal, to rustically elegant Italianate villas basking under the Texas sun.
Her newest book, French Refreshed (Gibbs Smith, $50), focuses on clean-lined French-inspired interiors that incorporate sumptuous colors with contemporary art and furnishings. These fresh, crisp rooms were captured by Dallas-based photographer Dan Piassick, who has beautifully shot all of Phillips’ books.
You’ll have a chance to meet the author when she signs copies of French Refreshed on Wednesday, October 2, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Ralph Lauren in Highland Park Village. Ten percent of sales during the event will be donated to Children’s Health hospital. RSVP for the event to curtis.gribble@ralphlauren.com.
