The only thing more chic than the stylish ensemble that partied at the Casa showroom opening was the assemblage of to-die-for contemporary Italian furnishings and design products. And none were more fabulously urbane than the duo behind the new concept — real estate powerhouse Jacob Sudhoff and his husband, architect Jerry Hooker.
The 10,000 square foot showroom in The Shops at Arrive percolated with a crush of interior designers, architects and developers, all swooning over the sleek furniture and leather goods from Giorgetti and Poltrona Frau, the hardwood floors from Listone Giordano and the cutting-edge furniture by Henrytimi and Tacchini.
Among the headliners attending were starchitect author and furniture designer Lauren Rottet, Giorgetti CEO Giovanni del Vecchio, Viabizzuno’s Christine Lucy, architect Scott Ziegler, photographer Sarah Sudhoff, and Stolz Partners founder Will Stolz, whose Atlanta firm has partnered with Sudhoff Companies on a number of Houston residential developments.
“This is a new concept in all of North America of doing mono-brand stores of the most luxurious brands in the world,” Sudhoff said. “We were able to bring these brands to Houston and have a new platform in the way that we do business. We are now taking these brands to developers and builders and to consumers.
“All these brands collaboratively can work together and create amazing spaces. We’re very excited about it.”
While wait staff circulated with yummy offerings from City Kitchen, a mouth-watering Italian buffet (pass the prosciutto, please) was set up in the stunning $250,000 Giorgetti kitchen. For those with more modest budgets, the bar was set up in an equally stylish Tisettanta kitchen that Sudhoff said could be priced from a minimal $5,000 to $60,000 depending on amenities and products.
Of the pricier example, Sudhoff said “These are made for ultra luxury hotels, luxury condominiums and ultra luxury family residences.” He added that Casa is already working on a hotel in Las Vegas and plans to spread its business nationwide. While Sudhoff is the marketing whiz in the duo, he says that Casa is Hooker’s vision. “It’s his passion.”
