Overview for the Covered Veranda
Outdoor spaces have always played an important role in our lifestyle in Texas and are even more important now as we spend more time outside. Our goal for the covered veranda was to create an extension of chic living that was simple and serene. We drew inspiration from a project we designed in the hills outside Tel Aviv, Israel. Tension is revealed from the mix of styles, periods, and textures while using sustainable and organic materials. The result is fresh and sophisticated in a timelessly modern way. Our sincere thanks to Sutherland Furniture, Perennials Fabric, M Naeve, Carol Piper Rugs, Galerie Novella, Found for the Home, Dmitriy & Company, Neal & Company, Materials Marketing, and Benjamin Moore. They were generous with their support and vital in making our vision become reality. — Kevin Spearman

Collaborations
I loved working with David Sutherland and their state-of-the-art Perennials Outdoor Fabrics & Rugs. The technology for these products has come so far, and they are so beautiful. We also loved working with our favorite Houston antique stores Galerie Novella and M Naeve, who always have our favorite finds. Carol Piper has the best and most unique rugs, as well.
Mike Neal from Neal & Company made our three custom sofas with Perennial Fabrics. Carol Piper Rugs helped us elevate the mood of our space with a vintage Reed & Leather Moroccan rug and vintage textiles to make it the perfect pairing.
Where did you shop in Dallas to pick up great items
We went to Nicholson Hardie for our plants. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful.
Best restaurants while in Dallas
Bistro 31 in Highland Park Village is always a must. Lucky’s for breakfast is a local favorite as well.
A favorite piece in your room
The pair of wicker chairs from Galerie Novella. We love these vintage Parisian chairs because they set the “collected tone” for our vision. Collected, relaxed, and sexy.
Biggest challenge creating your space
One of the biggest challenges was the timeline for replacing the existing slate flooring with Lueders limestone.
