This is the Only Place in the State You’ll be Able to Find his Coveted Furniture

BY // 11.06.17

Rock star Dutch designer Piet Boon and his Amsterdam area studio are among the most touted in the world, with an impressive lineup of international product collaborations including Porsche, Land Rover, Bang & Olufsen, Formani, and Mooi. Studio Piet Boon also designs breathtaking private interiors and commercial buildings around the world.

Boon himself heads for Dallas this Thursday, Nov. 9 from 5 to 8 pm, when he’ll launch his Studio Piet Boon Collection of furniture at Smink. It’s the only place you’ll be able to find his line in Texas, and joins Smink’s lineup of international superstars, including legendary Danish designer The House of Finn Juhl; and notable Italian lines Minotti, Molteni & C, Living Divani, and Tacchini; and lighting from modern American classic David Weeks Studio, among others.

Smink has 20 pieces from Boon’s collection on the floor now, including sofas, armchairs, chaises, cabinets, mirrors, and side, coffee, and dining tables, with more available to order. Boon is known for a beautifully reductive sense of style that incorporates natural and artisanal materials, such as hand-shaped cast bronze and aluminum, with velvet-soft quilted leathers, and organic shapes.

We’ll have in-depth interview with Piet Boon in the January print issue of PaperCity magazine, along with more photos of his extraordinary design work and interiors. Stay tuned for all the stylish details.
