Famed Designer to Visit Houston, His Debut Schumacher Collection in Tow
By Holly Moore //
Designer Miles Redd’s new (and first) collection for Schumacher is quite the stunner.
Take a look at the dazzling Glass Paneling Mylar wallpaper in silver, inspired by the glamorous David Adler mirrored bathroom famously installed in Redd’s home. Then jump to Cubist in peacock, a fabric in non-repeat 96-inch panels with a complex stitched-together face of silk taffeta pieces. Brighton Pavilion in black and white is a luscious Chinoiserie design hand-engraved in Europe, available in fabric and wallpaper with a 12-foot vertical repeat, and is based on an 18th-century Swedish document belonging to Redd. And Peacock in cream was inspired by the beautiful 1930s chintzes of John Fowler and Nancy Lancaster.
Redd will be the keynote speaker at Decorative Center Houston Fall Market on Thursday, November 12, 10 am, in the Ground Floor Gallery, followed by a reception in the Schumacher showroom, Suite 4017, 11 am. Decorative Center Houston, 5120 Woodway, 713.627.8777; RSVP here.
