Darn! If John Daugherty Jr. had only been keeping tabs on the number of houses sold over his 50 years in the business, we would have an astronomical home sales number to quote. He agreed, but demurred on making an estimate, as he shared memories and best wishes with friends, Realtors, agents and family at the 50th anniversary of John Daugherty, Realtors.
For this major milestone, the dining room at River Oaks Country Club was bustling with powerhouse top real estate agents. Laura Sweeney, Joe Lucia, Lisa Kornhauser, Michael Silva, and retired agent Diane Lokey Farb were among them. In all, more than 200 fans and employees turned out to salute the man at the helm of the extraordinary luxury residential real estate firm.
“Can you believe it’s been this long,” Daugherty said. “I never thought it would grow to this back in 1967.” Today, the firm boasts close to 150 on the sales team.
Last year, the firm maneuvered 1,500 transactions and is on a path to do even more this year.
Only a few weeks earlier, the company was in the spotlight at the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World Conference in Miami, where the team earned 14 award honors. As Cheri Fama, John Daugherty, Realtors president and CEO, noted at the time, “These honors validate the hard work of all the agents and staff. . . To be nominated for so many awards and winning the Pinnacle is a testament to what we stand for as a company . . .”
Highlight of the cocktail party was the video honoring Daugherty with congratulations, remembrances and anecdotes. Joining in the praise were Daugherty’s wife Debbie, and his daughter Annie with her beau Albert Spiers.
Who: Executive vice president Anne Incorvia, Mary Craddock, Rosie Myer, Kay Holmes, Rob Gin, Kelle Hill, Debbie Hartstern, Stephanie Aron-Weiss, Chris Foster, Megan Ray, Sarah Callaway Sulma, Melissa Atkinson, Andrew McCain, Jeanne Marosis, Beth Silva, Katie Vovo, and Pat Burchett.
