This Cider House Rules — Popular Dallas Arcade Bar Moves Into Houston and Austin

Cidercade, the genius cider bar arcade combo from the minds of Bishop Cider Co., is expanding to two new locations, in Austin and Houston. The Dallas-based company, currently at 2777 Irving Boulevard, will be bringing their array of ciders and classic arcade game wonderland to ATX and Space City later this year.

The Austin location will be at 600 East Riverside Drive, in the former Joe’s Crab Shack location. The 13,000 square foot facility will serve over 30 ciders and wines, which also has a patio right off the lake. Joe’s Crab Shack closed down in late 2018 and has been sitting vacant ever since.

As for Houston, the new gigantic 18,000 square foot spot will be in East Downtown. It’s speculated to be opened at 2339 Commerce Street at a new mixed-use development. Both of these new spots are more than twice the size of the original Dallas location, which is 6,500 square feet.

Bishop Cidercade is one of the most popular spots in Dallas for date nights, group outings, and parties. For only $10, you gain access to all of the games you want. There are more than 170 games ranging from classics like pinball and Skee-Ball to Guitar Hero and Mario Kart.

Ciders on tap include the popular Crackberry, Blood Orange, Apple Pineapple and The O.G. There are also new favorites like The Dark Cide with black currant, Eleven (like from Stranger Things) with Eggos and maple syrup (however that works), and Main Squeeze lemonade.

The Dallas Cidercade offers bites from food trucks. You can also BYOF or have food delivered. All ages are welcome during the day, but after 8 pm it’s adults ages 21 and up only.
