New Retro Cocktail Bar to Give Old East Dallas Some Nightlife Cred
Toller Patio Embraces Dogs — and Humans
By Megan Ziots //
A new retro-inspired bar and kitchen is coming to Old East Dallas this summer. From the same minds that brought us craft cocktail haven HIDE in Deep Ellum, Toller Patio will be opening very soon at 3675 Ross Avenue.
With mid-century vibes, including large palm trees, a retro color palette, and seating for day and night lounging, Toller Patio will serve 12 handcrafted cocktails on tap and an approachable food menu. There will also be craft beer, specialty wine and customizable Highballs.
The cocktail menu includes the classic Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, Paloma and Spanish Sangria as detailed in a sneak peak menu on the bar’s Facebook page.
Toller Patio also will be serving a Wildflower with vodka, elderflower, lemon and lavender and Castaway with rum, lime, caramelized pineapple and passionfruit. The Garden Gimlet has vodka, lime and cucumber. Something called Bramble Time includes whiskey, blackberry and thyme. Lastly, the Mangorita has tequila, mango, lime agave and habanero, while Thai Smash is a mix of gin, lime, yuzu and Thai basil.
Frozen cocktails include a Grapefruit Froze and Tropical Slushie. The Highball menu is extensive with options for craft sodas ranging from orange mandarin and cherry limeade to ginger beer and pineapple. And for bites, the bar and patio will offer hand-crafted sandwiches, salads, snacks (like wings) and sweets.
Patio furniture is incredibly bright and colorful, a fun giant mural of a dog named Toller — who the bar is named after — is painted on the side of the building, and red neon signage catches the eye from the street. The 12,000 square foot patio will be completely dog friendly and will also feature games.
Another neighborhood working to become a go-to destination for nightlife and such, Old East Dallas looks like it’ll be off to a great start with this casual and outdoor friendly new Toller Patio.
