Dallas’ Best Baker?
New Competition to Determine Winner with Celebrity Chefs Judging
By Merrit Stahle //
Dessert fanatics, get your aprons ready. Fair Park is hosting the first annual Dallas Bake Off, where bakers of all experience levels (everyone is welcome to register) will compete in six categories: Cupcakes, Cakes, Chocolate, Pie, Macarons, and Cookies.
The winner will be crowned Dallas Bake Off Master and have the chance to win additional prizes and gifts.
Some seriously sweet names will judge participants, including Dallas-Fort Worth celeb chefs Bronwen Weber, owner of Frosted Art Bakery & Studio; Kate Weiser, owner of Kate Weiser Chocolate; Nicolas Blouin, pastry chef at The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek; and special People’s Choice judge Sarah Knowlton, creative director of We the Birds.

Purchase a general admission ticket for $10 and enjoy samples from local vendors, in addition to Texas State Fair food staples — chocolate-dipped bananas, cotton candy, wine pops, gourmet pretzels, Texas mules in take-home copper mugs, and more.
Or, purchase a People’s Choice ticket for $25 to become a competition judge and receive a guaranteed front-row seat at the stage.
The Dallas Bake Off is from noon to 5 pm on Saturday, July 8, in the Embarcadero Building at Fair Park. Parking is $10.
