Cooking up an entire Thanksgiving dinner year after year can get exhausting. Sometimes it’s OK to mix things up and go out to or takeout from a nice restaurant, especially if it’s one of the best in Dallas.

Consider this your Dallas Thanksgiving guide. Here are the best Dallas restaurants for Thanksgiving brunch or dinner:

Al Biernat’s

4217 Oak Lawn Avenue

This Thanksgiving, Al Biernat’s is offering a takeaway menu of traditional Thanksgiving dishes. Both Oak Lawn and North locations will be offering a 12 to 14 pound turkey with gravy for $99.

In addition, family style sides that serve five to six people are available. These include asparagus, baby carrots, au gratin potatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, creamed corn, green beans, mac ‘n cheese, mushrooms, potatoes garlic smashed, risotto mushroom, spinach creamed and spinach sauteed for each about $20 to $25. There’s also a risotto lobster for $39 and dinner rolls for $6.50.

Serving eight to 10 people, dessert options range from apple cobbler and chocolate pecan pie to pumpkin pie and New York. style cheesecake. For the entire menu and order information, see the website.

Bullion

400 S. Record Street

French restaurant, Bullion, is offering Pies & Sides to-go this Thanksgiving. Cooked up by chef and owner Bruno Davaillon, the catering menu includes side dishes (serving four to eight people) like turkey gravy, pommes puree, roasted sweet potatoes with candied pecans, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce and Parker House rolls. All cost $15 each. You even have the option of adding on black truffle to your gravy for an extra $15.

Add on a pumpkin or pecan pie for $30 a piece and all you have to do is provide the turkey.

CBD Provisions

1530 Main Street

Located inside of The Joule hotel, CBD Provisions will be featuring special a la carte dinner and brunch menus for Thanksgiving. For brunch, from 10 am to 3 pm, there will be an assortment of breakfast items alongside Thanksgiving Day specials such as Buttermilk Hotcakes topped with blueberry butter and lemon-shortbread crumble. A Turkey Plate with cornbread dressing, sage gravy and cranberry chutney will also be available.

The dinner menu will include Butternut Squash Veloute, Acorn Squash Hummus, Turkey Plate, Sweet Potato Casserole, Green Beans alongside selections from CBD’s regular menu, including Pimento Cheese Toast, Steak Frites and Pan-Roasted Gulf Catch. Dinner will be served from 4 pm to 9 pm.

Meddlesome Moth

1621 Oak Lawn Avenue

A staple gastropub in the Design District, Meddlesome Moth is hosting a Thanksgiving Day brunch from 11 am to 3 pm on the big day. For $25 per person, The Moth Thanksgiving Plate will include a choice of herb roasted turkey breast or honeybaked ham, green beans almondine, whipped parsnips, sage sausage stuffing, dinner roll and cranberry confit.

Other specials include Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup, Persimmon Salad, ‘Tearjerkin’ Tomahawk Pork Chop, Duck Confit Tamales and a selection of savory sides and turkey day desserts as well as signature Moth favorites.

Pecan Lodge

Another Dallas favorite, barbecue haven Pecan Lodge is now taking orders online for Thanksgiving. Pecan brings a selection of meats like smoked turkey, ham with apricot-molasses glaze, spice crusted beef tenderloin, whole smoked brisket, racks of ribs, and handmade smoked sausage links.

For sides, you can choose from Southern cornbread stuffing, pulled pork and brisket tamales, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese and peach cobbler as well as all of Pecan Lodge’s holiday inspired sides and desserts. Prices range from $15 to $145.

The last day to order online is November 22 at 5 pm and orders must be picked up on November 27 from 8 am to 2 pm at 1618 West Commerce. To order, go here.

Flora Street Cafe

This Thanksgiving, chef Stephan Pyles’ Flora Street Cafe is serving up a three-course pre-fixe brunch menu for $75 per a person and $35 for kids 12 and under. The menu, available from 11 am to 3 pm, includes choices of starter, main and dessert.

For starters, you can choose between Butternut Squash Bisque with Lobster Dumplings and Pomegranate Crema, Deviled Eggs with Crabmeat, SP’s Southwestern Caesar Salad with Jalapeno Croutons and Ancho-Orange Barbecued Shrimp. Main choices are either the Roast Turkey with Blue Corn Chorizo Stuffing or Smoked Prime Rib with Horseradish Crema. There are also several sides to choose from like Cranberry Mojo, Corn Pudding Tamales, Roast Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Spicy Yams with Coriander Marshmallow, Tomatillo Green Beans, Maple Grits, Brussels Sprouts and Rolls.

Top its off with a choice of dessert like the Pumpkin-Pecan Pie with Whiskey Sauce, SP’s Heaven and Hell Cake, or Butterscotch Pudding with Salted Caramel.

Stampede 66

For those up North in Allen, Stephan Pyle’s Stampede 66 is also creating a special Thanksgiving menu. Also a pre-fixe menu, it’ll be $38 a person, along with an option for a wine pairing for an extra $20. The menu will be served all day and include SP’s Corn Mexican Bread for a starter.

For main dish choices, there’s Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast or Barbecued Beef Brisket. Sides include Blue Corn Chorizo Stuffing, Giblet Gravy/Barbecue Sauce, Green Beans with Tomatillo Butter, Spicy Whipped Sweet Potatoes and Cranberry Mojo. And for dessert, choose between the Deep Dish Apple Cream Cheese Pie or Pumpkin-Pecan Pie with Whiskey Sauce.

Stampede 66 will also be offering a Thanksgiving To-Go menu that consists of the same menu items. These orders must be placed by November 21 at 2 pm for pick-up on November 26 and 27 between 3 pm and 8 pm. Prep instructions will be included. For $60, servings include enough for two people. Each additional person is $30.

III Forks

On Thanksgiving Day, a Dallas dining locale that doesn’t usually serve lunch is making an exception. On November 28, III Forks will offer a Thanksgiving Feast from 11 am to 8 pm for the whole family. The three-course deal will cost $49 for adults and $18 for kids.

For a starter, you’ll have an option between the III Forks Salad with Granny Smith apples, Wisconsin blue cheese, toasted pecans and field greens with housemade maple pecan vinaigrette, or Tenderloin Tomato Soup with fresh roasted vine-ripe plum tomatoes and sweet basil simmered with tenderloin beef stock. You can also sub in lobster bisque for $5.

As for entrees, they’ve got the Spice Rubbed Holiday Turkey, Roasted Midwest Beef Tenderloin, or Vermont Maple Glazed Atlantic Salmon available.

And most importantly, for dessert you can choose between the Pumpkin Pie, Makers Mark Pecan Bread Pudding, or Kentucky Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie. End your meal with a tea or coffee as well.

Truluck’s

This Uptown seafood and steak spot has also come up with a special Thanksgiving Day menu for adults and kids. For $45 for adults and $19 for kids 12 years old and under, you’ll get to choose dishes from a three-course menu for Turkey Day.

For starters, choose between the Lobster Bisque, Caesar Salad, or Sonoma Greens Salad. The second course is obviously turkey, herb roasted with parmesan mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, giblet gravy, and cranberry apple compote. But, it also comes with your choice of two family style sides. Choices are between creamed spinach, mac and cheese, steamed asparagus, and green beans amandine.

And for dessert, make the tough decision between the Southern Pecan Pie and Classic Pumpkin Pie.

Wine pairings and a special holiday eggnog is also available for an extra $14 or $15.
