Houston’s 10 Best Margaritas: The Top Restaurants and Bars to Celebrate this Margaritaville Holiday

BY // 02.22.17

Any holiday that revolves around liquor is a guaranteed good time, especially when the featured spirit is tequila. Of all the fictional holidays that fill the calendar each year (National Tartar Sauce Day, I mean, come on) National Margarita Day is always a fan favorite — let’s get real, who can refuse a day in Margaritaville?

For some of the city’s best margarita deals, here are 10 locales where you should get your drink on this National Margarita Day — or any day when you just want to celebrate.

Anejo, 1180 Uptown Park Boulevard, 713.963.9032, anejotexmex.com. If you’re looking for an authentic, Mexican-style margarita (no sickly sweet mixes here), head to Anejo. Not only are the margaritas $5 all day, but you can also pair your libation with Anejo’s signature taco plate and guacamole for just $20.

Cyclone Anaya’s Mexican Restaurant, multiple locations, 713.520.6969, cycloneanaya.com. While Cyclone Anaya’s may not be your go-to for authentic Mexican food, the margaritas never disappoint. Head to one of the brand’s six Houston-area locations for $5 jumbo house margaritas all day long.

El Big Bad Margarita Bar + Kitchen, 419 Travis Street, 713.229.8181, elbigbad.com. This gastro-cantina is sure to be a National Margarita Day favorite considering its specialty is infused tequilas and fresh margaritas. Starting at 4 pm, El Big Bad will serve $5 fresh squeezed margaritas followed by crawfish at 7 pm. The crawfish is sure to sell out, so pre-order at $5.99 per pound here.

Goode Co. Armadillo Palace, 5015 Kirby Drive, 713.526.9700, thearmadillopalace.com. Enjoy Goode Co.’s new sprawling backyard and outdoor patio while indulging in a Damn Goode Margarita this holiday. Arrive between 4 and 7 pm to take advantage of the restaurant’s half-price appetizers (think crispy fajita nachos and chile con queso) and other happy hour deals.
