If you’re a Dallas foodie like us, you like to stay on top of all the new restaurants opening in the city. So here, we’re rounding up the hot spots being talked about right now. From a design-forward Uptown cocktail lounge to a mysterious French-inspired spot in Bishop Arts, these are the five most buzzy new Dallas restaurants to try right now.
Marlowe
2912 McKinney Avenue
This new Art Deco-inspired cocktail lounge took over the former Theory space in Uptown Dallas and is now serving cocktails, food, and vibes. Designed by Duncan Design Group (who also did Theory and Taylor Sheridan’s Cattlemen’s Club in Fort Worth), Marlowe’s interiors feature an illuminated grand arch entry, wood-vaulted ceilings, sculpted alcoves, tiered seating, marble and antique mirror-clad bar installations with backlit shelving, and more. Highlights on the cocktail and food menu include the espresso martini and charred Matagorda pearl oysters and beef skewers.

Tio Tacos
6110 Frankford Road
From Bill Dill Hospitality (Maroma, Casa Brasa, and Muchacho), this new casual taco spot quietly debuted in Far North Dallas this fall. It offers margaritas, cocktails, beer, burritos, salads, bowls, and 11 different tacos. A few standouts include The Burgeusa, Crispy Chicken Tender Taco, and Ribeye “La Cachetada.” They’ve also got sides, aguas frescas, and paletas. There’s a lot to try.

Trapeze
240 W. 8th Street
This French-inspired restaurant from the co-founders of Deep Ellum’s Armoury D.E. and Ruins, Peter Novotny and Dan Murry, has softly opened in an old home in Bishop Arts, with a grand opening in the works. Diners can expect dishes with North African influences and a cocktail-forward bar. On October 31, the new spot is throwing Poppy Xander’s Vaudeville Halloween Night from 8 pm to 11 pm, with a vinyl party to follow from 11 pm to 2 pm. This has gotta be one of the most intriguing new restaurants of the fall. Stay updated on their Instagram.

Docent Steak
2806 Harry Hines Blvd
Harwood Hospitality’s latest concept, Docent Steak, is a two-story restaurant with a main dining room upstairs and a more casual lounge area downstairs. It’s located in the District’s Kengo Kuma-designed Harwood No. 14 building and features more than 100 pieces from the Barbier-Mueller family’s collection of art and cultural objects (who own Harwood International). The food menu centers around Harwood’s exclusive beef program, HWD Beef, and also offers some Kobe beef options. We attended a soft opening at the steakhouse where we tasted dishes from a limited menu. Learn more about our first visit here.

Juliet
1400 Hi Line Drive, Suite 116
This Houston-based steakhouse recently made its debut next door to Delilah in the Dallas Design District (bold move). It’s known for its Old Hollywood movie theme, $325 34-ounce gold-crusted tomahawk ribeye, and celebrity visits — Drake, Lizzo, and Megan Thee Stallion have all stopped by the original spot, according to the Houston Chronicle. The Dallas location also screens classic films and features cinematic elements throughout the space.
