The Foundry Returns and Fresh Farm-to-Table Arrives in Bishop Arts — The New-ish Dallas Dishes to Know
All the New North Texas Restaurants to Add to Your Must-Hit List
By Megan Ziots //
From a new Southern restaurant in Addison to the return of a favorite West Dallas beer garden, these are three new North Texas restaurants to add your must-hit list.

Written By The Seasons
380 Melba Street
Just quietly opened in Bishop Arts, this new farm-to-table restaurant comes from the same minds behind nearby Tribal All Day Cafe. The menu includes small plates like seasonal tempura, kimchi pancakes, and ginger chili baby bok choy. There’s a vast salad menu with veggies such as roasted pumpkin, rainbow carrots, wood-fired avocado, and chili-charred Napa cabbage. As for mains, whether you’re feeling 44 Farms steak, mahi mahi, or seafood stew, there’s something for everyone.
In keeping with the restaurant name, all ingredients and dishes will change seasonally.

The Foundry Reopened
2303 Pittman Street
After shuttering during the pandemic, West Dallas music venue and beer garden The Foundry has reopened. With it, favorite fried chicken spot Chicken Scratch has been refreshed as well. (Although, they are now just calling the entire thing The Foundry to avoid confusion.)
New management, Shane Spillers (owner of Eno’s Pizza Tavern and Brewed), has taken over the haunt. The menu still offers the tasty chicken Chicken Scratch was known for, as well as sides like mac and cheese. Sunday brunch offers chicken and waffles and more from 10:30 am to 3 pm.

Spatch Kitchen & Cocktails
5000 Belt Line Road
This new American food restaurant with a Southern influence opens tonight for dinner service in Addison. The 5,000-square-foot space includes a modern dining room and outdoor patio, as well as a full-service bar with craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Lunch and brunch menus will launch following after the initial opening, but you can go ahead and try the loaded Haystack fries, fettuccine alfredo, deviled egg salad, and more for dinner. There are even beignets for dessert, including chocolate ganache, classic powdered sugar, and crème brulee with banana custard.
Opening at the same time, Sonny & Sons will be a fast-casual spot within Spatch featuring fried hot chicken, half birds, sandwiches, and donuts.
