Whiskey Extravaganza Tears Through Texas
World’s Most Unique Drinks and Master Classes Add Spice
By Jailyn Marcel //
Whiskey fans, this one’s for you. The 17th annual Whiskey Extravaganza hits the Lone Star State this week with stops in both Houston and Dallas. Some of the most prestigious and unique whiskies in the world are featured at this year’s festivities including appearances from Singleton, Single Malts, Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, Balcones Distilling, Loch Lomond, Glen Scotia, and The Glenlivet.
Guests can indulge in expert led master classes before the night’s finale tasting event, which includes dinner and whiskey, of course. Houstonians can experience the whiskey wonderland Wednesday, May 3 at the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria hotel, while Dallasites get a taste of the action on Thursday, May 4 at the Intercontinental Hotel.
Lookout for a duo of master classes in both cities: “The Peated Malts of Distinction: Laphroaig, Bowmore, Hakushu, Connemara and Ardmore” and “The Glenlivet & Aberlour: Nothing Added, Nothing Taken Away: Cask Strength Whiskies.”
