Houston Gets a High-Tech New Custom Skincare Machine First
This Serum Has Ladies in the Know Partying in a Posh Spa
By Shelby Hodge //
Little did the ladies and sprinkling of gents know when they accepted PaperCity‘s invitation to party at the swank Adara Medical Spa that they would be privy to a very big first. Dr. Karan Sra, Adara owner and founder, introduced the chic collection of clients, beauty influencers and friends to the first Custom D.O.S.E. machine in the country.
Pray tell, what is that?
It’s the latest technological advancement in skin care from SkinCeuticals, a diagnostic tool that, in conjunction with a physician consultation and diagnosis, almost magically formulates a personalized, aka customized, serum that targets discoloration and signs of aging for various skin types and client ages. The compounding machine works on a patented algorithm that delivers the exact measurements as prescribed by the doctor.
Guests stood in awe as Sra demonstrated the process, after which more than a few signed up for the $195 evaluation and serum, which comes with personalized packaging. Adara is the only practice in the southern U.S. to offer the D.O.S.E. treatment. The whole thing takes only about 15 minutes leaving plenty of time to peruse the myriad products and procedures offer by Sra and her team.
That was just icing on the cake for the posh party held amid the swank med spa located in the Museum District. The fun included amazing margaritas from Tequila Partida and a yummy array of nibbles from Catering by Culinaire — smoked chicken tostadas, shrimp ceviche, pulled beef short rib quesadillas, and cherry tomatoes filled with black bean hummus.
Who: SkinCeuticals business development manager Nicole Robinson in from Dallas, Dr. Audra Clos, Anna Domning, Virginia Reynolds, Jailyn Marcel, Kara Smith, Quillan Turner, Kristen Bacon, Kelley Silva, Melanie Bongard, Allessundra Harris, Anne Lee Phillips, Jamie Gillick, Chelsea Barr, Monica Bickers, Farrell Lawo and Meredith Chastang.
