Art on the Avenue
This year’s Art on the Avenue will supply the ultimate “buy local” experience. Incorporating Houston’s largest silent art auction, the hometown benefit offers for acquisition more than 500 artworks across all media, including jewelry, as well as painting, sculpture, and photography. Collectors, fans, curators, and buyers will flock to support Avenue CDC’s priority mission toward building affordable homes, strengthening communities, and enhancing the quality of lives of local families, as well as generating sales for Houston-based artists.
Art on the Avenue is comprised of two evenings – the Preview Party on Thursday, November 9 and the main Auction & Party Saturday, November 11. This year will introduce innovative bidding via mobile devices and reprise last year’s savory culinary favorites, thoughtfully curated wines, local brews, and bites selected by noted foodie Jailyn Marcel. Musical performances by Moodafaruka, set for the Preview Party, and Texas Johnny Boy, headlining the Auction & Party, will get artists, visitors, bidders, and buyers moving, grooving, and excited.
