Todd Fiscus’ Avant Garden is fast becoming THE place to party (and shop) among the city’s cognoscenti. Case in point, the recent book signing with Italian art connoisseur, interior designer, and hotelier Francesca Bortolotto Possati. High-profile scenesters Becca Cason Thrash and Ceron chaired the event in the River Oaks District booming floral/gift shop.
The gregarious Possati is CEO of the swank Bauer Hotel group in Venice and author of the stunning coffee table book, Venetian Chic, copies of which were snapped up by the fashionable flock. (Copies of the fourth iteration of the book are available at Avant Garden.)
As with any Becca and Ceron bash, champagne flowed and martinis were served. And as is tradition with Fiscus parties, caviar served with potato chips in lieu of blinis led the divine collection of hors d’oeuvres. The Avant Garden Houston staff joined in welcoming the throng and hosting the cocktail fête.
In addition to schmoozing with Possati, guests perused the must-have holiday decorations and sniffed the beautiful fresh florals that fill the charming boutique.
Partygoers, including YouTube million-viewer hit Dominique Sachse, found their way to the immersive installations by MotusRed. The KPRC news anchor, her hubby Nick Florescu and Ceron were caught romping amid the #flowerrain installation while the handsome couple found their way to the glitzy #bringingdownthehouse corner. All this between Sachse’s 6 and 10 pm newscasts!
Special guests among the flock were Becca’s jetsetting friends Garbriella Bacon from New York and Eva Dichand from Vienna, both Liaisons au Louvre supporters, who happened to be in town on a Metropolitan Museum of Art collectors trip. The fashionable clutch joined forces for dinner afterwards.
