The anticipation for the fall opening of Ceron Hair Studio in Memorial Green ran hot all summer long in 2017. The highly-sought after stylist was expanding his brand of fab tresses west and the neighborhood fashionistas were thrilled. But then Hurricane Harvey arrived.
The chic salon opened later than planned and the launch party just didn’t seem right while so many in the Memorial area had lost their homes to flood waters. As flamboyant as Ceron might appear, those who know him well are familiar with his warm heart and generosity of spirit. So the celebration delay was no surprise to friends.
Thirteen months after Harvey had wreaked its havoc and most of the city was recovering, the stylist to the stars brought in a DJ, popped the champagne corks and had his husband, Todd Fiscus, master of all things fabulous, plan the party.
The trés chic salon, designed by Droese Raney Architects of Dallas, quickly filled with a colorful mix of inside-the-Loop hipsters displaying tatoos and piercings along with the more conservatively dressed but nonetheless stylish ambassadors of the Memorial area lifestyle.
The fashionable Becca Cason Thrash, who called Memorial home before three feet of water partially submerged her bayou-front swankienda, shared air kisses with the Ceron team and friends. Swoon Memorial publisher and editor Lara Bell enjoyed her share of greetings with friends in the ‘hood and beyond while popular real estate agent Marnie Greenwood took in the swank salon.
Guests posed for photos in front of the massive female portrait with streaming silver locks in front of the salon where an outdoor living room was created. They grazed through Fiscus’ array of sophisticated party foods (caviar tacos, anyone?) and schmoozed, schmoozed, schmoozed.
