This Houston Prep School Gets 100 Percent of its Senior Class Accepted at College
Opportunity Rings at Museum District Bash

What: Chinquapin Prepatory School “Opportunity Rings” gala
Where: Hotel ZaZa Museum District
PC Moment: Introduction of the Chinquapin senior class, each of whom was accepted to college and 85 percent of who are expected to graduate from college, was a ringing endorsement of the school that provides quality education for underserved students, grades six through 12.
Chaired by Patty Bowen and Emily Christy with the assist of honorees chairs Kathy and Bill Heinzerling and Ann Smith, the evening raised more than $410,000. Keeping an eye on that bottom line were Chinquapin director Laura Henry and development director Marilu Garza.
The Hamill Foundation, represented by president Charlie Read and grand director Tom Brown, was honored as was the memory of Willy Kuehn with his niece Claire Getschow accepting on behalf of his family.
Who: KPRC Channel 2’s Khambrel Marshall as emcee, Susan Fernbach, Dan Pickering, Theresa and Evans Atwell, David Adickes, Tricia and Alan Ratliff, Francie and Mike Willis, Mary and Larry Peterson, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Charity of the Incarnate Word, Warner Roberts and Charity Yarborough.
