Houston’s Perfect Dinner Guest
How Christopher Spitzmiller Creates Tables the City Swoons Over
By Holly Moore //
Ruth and Neill Davis know how to throw a dinner party. Yes, they have the contents of their splendid home store, Found , from which to forage, but they hardly need to, what with the charming guest of honor being Christopher Spitzmiller, who creates some of the most magical tableware of the decade.
Order in perfect weather for the al fresco evening, a delightful spring menu from Canopy, and the best decorators in town, and voilà! Chicness.
Spitzmiller, a darling of AD, Elle Decor, and moi, was in town to show his new collection of handsome hand-thrown marbleized tableware in a trunk show at Found. This wasn’t his first time at the rodeo, so guests greeted him as a returning friend, with much kissing and catching up on news.
Friends of Spitzmiller: Cathy Chapman, Courtnay Tartt Elias, Kara Childress, Catherine Olasky, Aileen Warren, Anne Lee Phillips, Mindy Carter, Kiley Jackson, John Kidd, Elizabeth Munger, Julie Dodson, Laura Dalton, Peggy McGaughy, Catherine Brooks Giuffre, Karen Sachar, Marian Evans, Jennifer Barron, Caroline Harper Knapp, Ryan Reitmeyer, Kathy Dimmit, and Michael Mandola.
