Celebrity Paws Take a Bow in Front of Houston Animal Lovers

PC Moment: CAP Celebrity Paws “Top Ten Elite” honorees and their best friends were introduced to the gathering of more than 120 animal lovers. The honorees will be fêted at the November 17 gala, chaired by Julie and Brook Brookshire and Carol and Bill Simmons. Honorary chairs Cora Sue and Harry Mach, along with their pooch Mariposa, made the party as did longtime CAP supporters Gloria and Frank Meszaros, owners of West Houston Subaru, who are donating outright a 2018 Crosstrek for raffle.

Taking bows as honorees were Holly and Austin Alvis, Meghan Cornelius and Brenton Southern, Liz Markell, Frances Moody, Evelyn and Steve Quick, Jennifer and Ernest Sotuyo, Hallie Vanderhider, Kendall and Brian Wilbanks, Noel and Scott Wise and Rising Star Honoree, Charles Padgett.

Contributing to the four-legged fun were Lux and Humphrey, members of the Houston Fire Department’s Accelerant Detection K9s. In a quirky move, Uptown Pets provided the specialty drink of the night — the Salty Chihuahua.
